Stremio + Real-Debrid Setup Guide

Replace all your streaming subscriptions with one app for about $2.60/month.

Step 1

Download and Set Up Stremio

Stremio is a free media player that, combined with a debrid service, replaces Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO, Prime, and Apple TV+ in one app. It works on Android, Android TV, PC, Mac, Linux, and in the browser at web.stremio.com.

  1. Sign up and download at stremio.com.
  2. Open the app and log in.
  3. Click the puzzle icon (top right) → My Addons → uninstall everything except the built-in ones (Cinemeta, OpenSubtitles, Local Files).
Tip: On Windows, use the stable v4.4 release rather than the newer v5 beta.
Step 2

Sign Up for Real-Debrid

A debrid service is what makes this all work smoothly. It streams cached torrents over HTTPS, which means fast speeds, high quality, and no VPN needed.

My recommendation is Real-Debrid for its stability, speed, and price.

Once you've created an account, click Premium Offers in the top menu and pick a plan:

Fidelity points: When you buy a plan, you earn fidelity points. At 1,000 points you get 30 free days. Two 6-month plans give you 1,400 points — that's one free month per year with points to spare.
Important: Real-Debrid does not send expiration reminders. Set a calendar reminder so your plan doesn't lapse.
Step 3

Install Torrentio

Torrentio is the addon that finds and populates streaming links. Head to the Torrentio configuration page and set it up with these recommended settings:

Providers All checked
Sorting By quality, then size
Exclude qualities Check Screener and Cam only (optionally exclude 4K if you have slow internet)
Max results per quality Leave blank
Debrid provider Real-Debrid
API Key Click "find it here" to get your key from Real-Debrid, then paste it in
Debrid options Check both options

Once configured, click Install. Stremio will open and prompt you to confirm the installation.

Step 4

Install Cinemeta

Cinemeta is the official Stremio addon for movie and series catalogs. It populates your homepage with popular and trending content so you have something to browse.

  1. Go to the Cinemeta install page.
  2. Click Install.
  3. Confirm the installation in Stremio when prompted.
Step 5

You're All Set

Head back to the Stremio home screen and you'll see all your catalogs beautifully displayed. Pick anything, click play, and enjoy.

The best part: this setup syncs across all your devices. Log in on your phone, TV, or laptop and everything — addons, configuration, and watch history — is already there.

Note: Stremio also works without a debrid service (it streams torrents directly for free), but the experience with Real-Debrid is far superior — faster, more reliable, and better quality.
